As Eams gf had exams and doesn't really like sushi i decided to go to eamons area near Chiba for the day. The area was such a contrast from the small enclosed streets where i lived. The spaces were really wide and open. Once i got to Eams we went straight out for lunch, i was really hungry!
The place was a help yourself conveyor belt, but you could also send an order to the kitchen and they sent your food or drink out on a higher conveyor belt directly to the table.
This was the first time id tried sushi and i was a little worried that i wouldn't like it. I thought that it might be cold and taste really 'slippery'. We chose tuna first... it was so nice, i was really surprised how much i liked it. It was not cold or 'slippery'. The meat just seamed to melt apart in your mouth. After the first tuna there followed a feeding frenzy with Eam grabbing random plates in excitement saying 'lets try this' before i had even got the last one down!
I liked pritty much all of the sushi accept one, which looked, and tasted like old elastic bands. We even had hamburger, which was a mini beef burger on top of the rice, as sushi really just means 'rice vinegar' so technically you can have anything on the rice.
After that Awsome! meal, we went for a walk around the shopping area, which really jut reminded me of the retail parks back in England. Since being in Tokyo i had not seen much of the older cultures, i have seen old people around but in Akiba and Shibuya there are mainly shopping districts. So i have planned to go to Ueno park tomorrow to try get away from the busy streets for a day. I really will just go to look around, i wil visit again another day to the zoo and the museums. i will maybe do that all at once. I can imagine that could very easily take up a whole day!
Here are a few shots from our meal.
On the rail network, its kinda rude to take photos so i have to be stealthy!
This is a graveyard close to Eam's house
really nice shrine just around the corner from Eams house
Shrine guardian
i think each ribbon is a wish, made afew weeks ago at new year, although im not too sure.
This is where u cleanse yourself before you use the shrine
Eam lives on the outskirts of this town centre, you can see the high buildings
getting closer...
my first sushi :)
these were octopus balls, in a light batter, one of my fav's!
The carnage after! at first we thought that it was ¥105 but when we went to pay Eam found out it was lunch hour so they were ¥90 for 2pieces. It was stupidly cheap! i think that is a little over 50p, or 25p a piece!
cheap scooters
over hear gatsbys is a big grooming company, but i always laugh at the CG on the packaging.
The housing around Eam's seamed to be for people with a little more money than where i lived. The housing was far bigger. The style of housing seamed more European influenced, although this house kept with the Japanese style roofing, but with modern materials.
